Holding Hypermobility

Know what to look for. Know what to do next.

A foundational course for curious practitioners who want to feel confident assessing, advising, and supporting people across the hypermobility spectrum.

Friday 12th & Saturday 13th September, 2025
Melbourne/Naarm

You became a health professional to make a meaningful difference, yet you feel uncertain when sitting across from a hypermobile body

You find yourself asking…

  • “Is this hypermobility or something more?”

  • “How do I adapt my treatment plan for this body?”

  • “How can I support them in a sustainable way?”

Most training programs skim over hypermobility, especially the symptomatic or syndromic kind, leaving you to piece things together in the real world.

The result? You find yourself second guessing. Searching for answers. If you haven’t referred them on, you’re struggling to provide the care you know they need.

Do I really need to know about hypermobility?

Affecting roughly one in five people, we’re here to tell you that you’re going to encounter hypermobility in your practice.

With the right framework you can serve them just as confidently as anybody else—often with life-changing results.

“This course. This space. These People. Healing parts of my Professional Mask I didn’t know existed.”

Imagine walking into your next consultation with:

  • A greater understanding of the hypermobility spectrum.

  • The ability to recognise the symptoms of hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and co-occurring conditions during history-taking.

  • Physical assessment tools for joint hypermobility beyond the Beighton Scale.

  • Practical principles for movement and manual therapies that build stability and trust.

Confidence for you. Clarity and compassionate care for them.

We are Limbr.

We are a radical team of integrative physiotherapists-turned-educators supporting other health professionals to live, work, and learn more sustainably.

Holding Hypermobility will be facilitated by Maddie, Irene, and Melissa, who collectively bring over thirty years of experience in hypermobility spectrum disorders. We’ve already shared our knowledge with hundreds of health professionals, and we would love to do the same for you.

Holding Hypermobility is a foundational course focusing on hypermobility spectrum disorders and combining evidence-based education, thought-leading conversation, and practitioner regulation.

Over two days, here’s a snapshot of what we’ll explore together:

  • Connective tissue and the hypermobility spectrum, including hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) and the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS)

  • Subjective features of hypermobility spectrum disorders and commonly co-occurring experiences, including neurodivergence, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), postural orthostatic tachycardia disorder (POTS), and mast cell activation disorder (MCAS)

  • Physical assessment tools, including the Beighton, Upper Limb Hypermobility Assessment Tool (ULHAT), and the Lower Limb Assessment Score (LLAS)

  • Current diagnostic pathways for hypermobility spectrum disorders in Australia

  • Caring for the hypermobile client following a whole-person, interdisciplinary approach

  • Introducing movement and exercise for the hypermobile body

  • Considerations for therapeutic touch and manual therapies

  • Learning that lives in your body
This is not just a course you listen to—it’s one you live through. With hands-on labs, guided somatic practices and movement-based integration, you’ll embody the work as you learn it.

  • Everyone is welcome

We’ve carefully designed our course to feel inclusive for all bodies, brains, and minds—with sensory-considerate spaces, trauma-informed facilitation and flexibility to move, rest, or participate in your own way.

  • Nourish yourself as you learn

We prioritise your sustainability. Expect a rhythm of the weekend that includes grounding, rest, reflection, and connection—so you leave replenished, not depleted.

What You Get

  • Two immersive days so you leave feeling not just informed, but integrated—ready to take your learnings straight into practice with confidence and clarity.

  • Three compassionate facilitators bringing a wealth of experience, insight and lived perspective, so you receive up-to-date, interdisciplinary knowledge grounded in real-world care.

  • Opportunities for observation, demonstration, and hands-on practice so you can embody the material, ask questions in real time, and build the kind of confidence that only comes from doing.

  • A comprehensive course manual so you have clear reference points, reflection prompts and tools to return to long after the course is over.

  • A supportive community of like-minded practitioners so you feel less alone in your learning, more resourced in your work and reminded that care doesn’t have to be isolating.
