Holding Hypermobility
Know what to look for. Know what to do next.
A foundational course for curious practitioners who want to feel confident assessing, advising, and supporting people across the hypermobility spectrum.
11-13 September 2026
You became a health professional to make a meaningful difference, yet you feel uncertain when sitting across from a hypermobile body
You find yourself asking…
“Is this hypermobility or something more?”
“How do I adapt my treatment plan for this body?”
“How can I support them in a sustainable way?”
Most training programs skim over hypermobility, especially the symptomatic or syndromic kind, leaving you to piece things together in the real world.
The result? You find yourself second guessing. Searching for answers. If you haven’t referred them on, you’re struggling to provide the care you know they need.
Do I really need to know about hypermobility?
Affecting roughly one in five people, we’re here to tell you that you’re going to encounter hypermobility in your practice.
With the right framework you can serve them just as confidently as anybody else—often with life-changing results.
What Will You Learn
Across this training, we explore;
Connective tissue and the hypermobility spectrum
Understanding the hypermobility spectrum, including hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) and the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS)
Subjective features of HSD and EDS
When and how to screen for common co-occurring experiences, including neurodivergence, PTSD, POTS, MCAS, and more
Physical assessment tools, including the Beighton, Upper Limb Hypermobility Assessment Tool (ULHAT), and the Lower Limb Assessment Score (LLAS)
Current diagnostic pathways for hypermobility spectrum disorders in Australia
Caring for the hypermobile client following a whole-person, interdisciplinary approach
Over a third day, you will have the opportunity to explore;
Considerations for therapeutic touch and manual therapies
Movement modifications and programming for success
Where to start with movement and how to progress
What To Expect
20 or 28 CPD hours with training delivered across two or three in-person training days, two online integration sessions, and supported self-directed learning.
Three immersive days so you leave feeling not just informed, but integrated—ready to take your learnings straight into practice with confidence and clarity.
Two compassionate facilitators, who bring a wealth of clinical experience, insight, and lived perspective, so you receive up-to-date, interdisciplinary knowledge grounded in real-world care.
Opportunities for observation, demonstration, and hands-on practice so you can embody the material, ask questions in real time, and build the kind of confidence that only comes from doing.
A comprehensive course manual with clear reference points, reflection prompts, and tools to return to long after the course is over.
A supportive community of like-minded practitioners so you feel less alone in your learning, more resourced in your work, and reminded that care doesn’t have to be isolating.
This immersive experience goes beyond recognising hypermobility, and explores how to truly support people living with symptomatic hypermobility and make a significant difference to their quality of life.

If you work as a health professional, practitioner, movement facilitator, or caregiver, statistically, you are already working with people who have hypermobility.
Hypermobility occurs in 1 in 5 people and awareness and early screening for symptomatic and syndromic types significantly impact quality of life. These statistics are higher in certain populations including Autistic and ADHD populations. Time to diagnosis in Australia are 17+ years, it’s time to change that.
We are committed to making this course accessible and inclusive.
A limited number of scholarships are available for individuals who may not otherwise be able to afford to take part. Priority will be given to:
Individuals who work in not-for-profit or community organisations, serve marginalised populations, or work in remote or regional areas
First Nations, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Black, Indigenous and/or People of Colour (BIPOC)
People experiencing financial hardship
Your responses will be treated confidentially and used only for the purpose of assessing your eligibility for a scholarship.
Applications close on July 1st, 2026.
